For my very first blog that I have ever posted on the internet, I have come to the conclusion that I will start it about something very important to me, that being families. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, family is one of the main priorities we fight for and stand up for.
First I would like to personally thank all those that labored so diligently in Arizona, California, and Florida to be able to keep their state's definition of marriage between a man and a woman. What a wonderful accomplishment for those states that now face extreme persecution for their beliefs and what they know to be true.
For example the Los Angeles temple has been targeted by those that claim to be open, and receptive to all those fighting for what they believe to be equal rights concerning marriage. This has included "tagging" and other degrading acts towards this buliding of the LDS faith. The point that I am still confused about is how they claim to be open and receptive if they are now fighting with crime.
The reason why Propostion 8 passed was because of California's wanting to protect their families, and their children's chlidren. Its all about family, thats what it boils down to, family. No one against gay marriage is doing it out of hate towards those individuals who choose to be homosexual. So when Dan Savage stated "It is a responsibility of all of us not to be homophobic." (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/17/hughley.savage.prop.8/index.html?iref=24hours) that is not the case at all. No one is homophobic, not in the least sense. So the main point I am trying to drive home here today is that no one is "homophobic" people are just looking out for their future families with using prinicples that they know are true and come from God. Please remember that Its all about the family!
